Description: To make Little Sal, we add wild, lowbush blueberries to sour Red ale and age it for six months in red wine barrels. The resulting beer is dark violet in color, with earthy aromas of blueberry and oak. Its flavor is juicy, tart, and unmistakably blueberry: a true taste of Maine. The flavor is vinous with lingering blueberry and a moderate tartness. Biscuity notes give way to a juicy sweetness that is followed by a long, drying finish.
