Description: DEAD HAND is a cuvée style blend of multiple beers, barrels, and fruit. It starts with a blend of wild farmhouse style base blended with barrel aged unfruited traditional coolship spontaneous beer. Portions of several barrel and puncheon aged spontaneous fruit beers are then added in various proportions to create a beer that is both drinkable, interesting, and infinitely complex. A tremendous depth of flavor is found as the beer warms, a depth that is unique to beers created using the methods and ingredients of Belgian Lambic brewers: coolship inoculation, turbid mash, aged hops, unmalted wheat. Subtle hints of French oak mingle with the classic coolship funk. Black Project's characteristic peach/apricot yeast flavors meld and support the moderate fruit additions. Raspberry is the most prominent fruit, but Blackberry, Black Currant, and Apricot are all definitely present as well, if you know where to look. The beer's coolship origins ensure that while extremely fruit-forward it is also bone-dry.
