Description: This is the fourth in an occasional series of IPA style ales we are releasing to explore new hop varieties, experimental hop varietals and educate ourselves along with the best beer and burger eating customers on the planet. Galaxy hops come from Australia and they are quickly becoming one of the most sought after darling hops preferred by craft brewers. Galaxy has an alpha acid level of 12+%, so it's versatile for both bittering and aroma qualities. Showing passion fruit, mango, pineapple and wood tones, Galaxy is a clear winner for IPA style beers. This batch came in at about 6.2% ABV with 80 IBUs. Our SHIPA beers use the same base malt recipe with each batch and vary only the hop variety to learn about each hop.
