Description: When combining art with science, from time to time, you will come across a "fortunate happenstance." We started with a base of Irish stout malt, Special B, chocolate malt, roasted barley, lactose and flaked oats. We racked that stout into whiskey barrels and aged it for several months. During the aging process, we added cocoa nibs and vanilla beans but some lactobacillus decided to come along for the ride. The lacto added a pleasing tartness to accentuate the chocolate and roasted characteristics of the base beer. What was intended to be another beer altogether, we now celebrate as Sour 'N Dipity
