Description: The second release from our “Trip Around the Sun” series is Hibernal (solstice) Baltic Porter. A satisfying style to have on hand when the cold winds blow, and the fireplace is raging. Smoother and rounder than a stout, Baltic-style Porter is a cold-fermented and cold-lagered brew whose rich flavors were favored by the Northern Europeans in the ports around the Baltic Sea. Munich base malt is just the beginning of this complex brew as ten additional grains coalesce to impart the flavors of cocoa, coffee, black currant, and plums. Spicy English hops are the seasoning that round off the mélange of flavors. So, raise a glass, shout “Skol,” and enjoy with friends on those fridged winter nights.
