Description: Black & Bruin is a sour twist on a Dogfish classic, Black & Blue. We brewed an Oud Bruin or Flanders Brown Ale with imported crystal and Munich malts and soured the wort with a blend of lactobacillus cultures. Then we tossed in loads of blackberries and fermented it with a spicy Belgian yeast, giving this beer its rich, dark-fruit complexity. Notes of sweet caramel and toffee combine with flavors of blackberry jam, plum and cherry, finally giving way to a gentle acidity that provides a dry, tart and refreshing finish. Santé!
