Description: Instead of kegging the entire 2010 batch of Black Jack Russian Imperial Stout, one of our most popular December seasonal beers since it was first brewed in 1998, a small quantity was aged for two months inside of charred American oak whiskey barrels before being bottled. The result is a smoky, sophisticated Russian Imperial Stout that pours jet black with a full body, small tan head, and warm aromas of smoky malt and charred oak. Barrel aging also adds accents of charred oak, vanilla and caramelized sugar to Black Jack’s bold swirl of dark chocolate, coffee, smoky malt, and fruit flavors flavors, that balance its big, warming 8% abv. This rare, truly exceptional variant of The Brewer’s Association of Maryland Governor’s Cup 2005, 2006 and 2007 gold medal winner can be found in vintage 22 oz bottles.
