Description: Brown ales are perfect for afternoon drinking, with their firm malt base. Notes of caramel, chocolate and toffee shine through. Occasionally we get a little hop crazy and get heavy handed with our hop selection, due to the abundance of wonderful hops in the larder. With Stagger Lee we’ve erred on the subtle side of hopping, letting the malt warmth shine through. American hops on the nose give hints to the firm bitterness in this beer, which pours a toasty caramel brown colour, with a full, off-white head. To enjoy Stagger Lee to its potential, we suggest pairing it with a mild cheddar or blue cheese, grilled meat (think BBQ ribs) and roast pumpkin and kumara.
