Description: Hoptimization spawned the research series, which investigates how changes in process, ingredients and fermentation change the resulting beer (that's what the partial differential equation symbol for the Research Series means). Hoptimization is a DIPA series that investigates how changing different aspects of hops changes the DIPAs, which will allow us to optimize our hops and hopping procedure (set that pde = 0). Hoptimization 1 is our biggest DIPA to date at 8.5% ABV with an intense mosaic forward hop bill. It pours a very murky tangerine color, releasing notes of dank-citrus, more dank-citrus, earthy grass, tropical melon, and a touch of berries. The taste is highly resinous, dank-citrus, piney, juicy, which a chewy mouth feel and a firm and pointed bitterness.
