Description: Stranger Than Fiction’ started out in November as a fairly traditional four grain saison. We used a blend of yeasts including the house Belgian strain from Strange Craft and a special Brett yeast that Fiction cultured. After primary fermentation the beer was transferred to two fresh Barbados rum barrels. To one we added plum, the other blackberry. An additional strain of brett was then added and the beer allowed to age for three months! The result is a beautiful, complex and crushable saison with just the right balance of funk, oak, rum, and fruit.
