Description: There is an old story that dates back to 2003 when then tech employee Taskin Beyrle locked up his brakes while in Bay Bridge traffic causing him to spill his chai tea into his carpool mate's latte; thus creating the spiced latte. As abhorrent of a trend as this became in the coffee industry, it actually plays a useful role in beer, aiding in creating a complex profile of earthy spices that mellow out what can be at times an acrid marriage of Porter and coffee. In Coffee Stained Earth we threw in some milk sugar to add heft to the Porter's body while creating a very latte-like mouthfeel. This carries the spices of ginger, cinnamon, cardamom, and vanilla across the palate to collide against the unique coffee flavors contributed by a blend of espresso beans as well as monsoonal coffee beans from West India. This spicy and earthy amalgamation blends together in the glass to form a slick and spicy milkshake-like porter that overpowers neither coffee or porter.
