Description: In 2018 alone there were 19 people online who complained about a lack of adjunct-less Stouts on the market, now add that to our brewing team of eight and there are 27 people who are going to get really excited for this beer. Shtickless Plain ol’ Stout is our… ….wait for it… …plain ol’ Stout. Oats? No. Lactose? No. Coffee, Vanilla, Chocolate, Coconut, Rye, Pumpkin, Birthday Cake, Vegan Buckwheat Waffle Batter? No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No! This is the anti-hype, the old guard done new, the return of the American Stout with no shtick. Brewed with a classic British Ale yeast and our favorite domestic roasted dark malts Shtickless balances its deep notes of rich toffee, dark chocolate, fresh coffee, and bready malts with a hefty body and thick mouthfeel. To keep to style we used a moderate dusting of hops; in this case an experimental hop that provides complex secondary notes of toasted wood and bourbon that are more subtle than the huge tropical hops you’d find in just about every other beer we brew. Shtickless is the perfect example of our love of the classic styles of the craft beer movement and if all 19 of you show up in force and kill this batch expect more in the future.
