Description: Complex, special, remarkable—Flanders Red Ale is a style of sour ale brewed in West Flanders, Belgium and due to their colour, long ageing, and flavours are often described as the most wine-like of all beers; in fact, the Flanders Red Ale is often referred to as the "Burgundy of Belgium". Our version of this pinnacle in sour beers has been aged in red wine barrels for a full year, and has all those classic flavours, such as black cherry, plums and red currants in a deep sourness that may surprise you. While Flanders Red may be an acquired taste, it is unquestionably a beer you need to try if you are looking to expand your beer education. For us Canadians, the regions of Vimy and Flanders evoke some of the most patriotic of emotions. How could we release a Flanders Red without thinking about those who gave so much for us all. They all deserve to be remembered and honoured. But beyond that, today's veterans deserve our support. $1 from each bottle of Flanders Red will be donated to help Canadian veterans to overcome their physical or mental health illnesses. For those of us who have family who left to serve our country and never made it back home, or did but need our help, and for those who want a truly unique and rare beer style that simply must be appreciated, pick up a bottle of Flanders Red at our retail store.
