Description: The addition of sea salt and caramel malts create a sweet, heavy body ale backed by an alcohol warmth. A great choice for those of us who enjoy complex and unique beer that only improves as the beer begins to warm. Brewers Notes: Aroma: Salinity, sweetness, and burnt caramel with alcoholic undertones. Appearance: Deep, dark reddish brown with a quickly fading tan head. Flavor: Sweet and boozy up front, with a slight bready tinge and distinct candy-caramel note as the beer sits on your palette. The flavor eventually fades into a residual sweetness with an obvious salty note in the aftertaste Mouthfeel: Full and Viscous, but far from cloying. Low carbonation. Overall Impression: : An extremely long boil time combined with a sea salt addition and unreasonable amounts of a variety of caramel malts create the distinct impression of liquid salted caramel. A heavy body and a sweet but not cloying presence only improves as the beer begins to warm, all backed by a pleasant but not overkill alcohol warmth. A great choice for those of us who enjoy complex and unique beers.
