Description: This specialty Scotch Ale was produced using all imported British malts, some of which were kilned in peat smoke. Peat – a kind of dried moss – was once a primary fuel source for denizens of Northern Europe, and its smoke became strongly associated with the land of lofty verdant crags, Tartan cloth, and bagpipes. We used enough peat-smoked malt to give it a more “land of kilts” feel than our regular Stone of Scone Scotch. It adds a touch of spiciness to the lush caramel and malty flavors typical of a scotch ale.
