Description: Most smoked beers are on the dark and gritty end of the scale; stouts, porters, old ale, etc. This ale was made to show the effect that smoked malts can have on lighter beers. German pilsner malt was combined with Beachwood smoked malt to produce an amber beer. Fifty percent of the malt bill was smoked malt and on first sip the flavor of smoke explodes in your mouth followed by the solid underpinning of the German Magnum hops used for bittering. Smooth and crisp, yet big on smoke, this beer will have you singing, "When smoke gets in your eyes". Seriously, it is a delicious treat of a rare beer style and works very well as a blend with other, interesting beers giving them another dimension.
