Description: In October 2005, Guinness announced the Brewhouse Series, a limited-edition collection of draught stouts. Guinness North Star Brew is the third stout in the Brewhouse series. Brewed using lightly blended malts to produce a silky, well-rounded finish, it is a pint of rare distinction that is named in honor of the Brewer’s Star. This six-pointed star has been used to symbolise purity as far back as the 1300's. Each point represents an aspect of the brewing process that is critical to purity: water, hops, barley, malt, yeast and of course, the brewer. The other two beers in the series were: Brew 39 - Had the same alcohol content (ABV) as Guinness Draught, used the same gas mix and settled in the same way, but had a slightly different taste. Toucan Brew - It was named after the cartoon toucan used in many Guinness advertisements. This beer had a crisper taste with a slightly sweet aftertaste due to its triple-hopped brewing process.
