Description: As part of our evolving Sour Ale program, our Barrique Bruin pays homage to the Belgian Flanders Brown Ale style. Barrique Bruin’s complexity can be attributed to its triple fermented brewing process, which starts in the kettle with a carefully controlled lactobacillus culture, before being boiled, sent to fermenter for a traditional ale fermentation, and finally to age and dry out further in Yarra Valley syrah barrique barrels. A rich, sweet and gently roasted malt profile contrasts a tart, lively and wild fermentation character. Maturation in wine barrels harmonises the flavour profile with stone fruit and toasted sourdough. A complex beer with a crisp finish will have you savouring each mouthful.
