Description: What are you to brew when you are offered a couple of 20yr old rum barrels? Stout? Porter? Not at HopDog. In a decision to buck the trend, we aimed waaaay left field, and brewed something a bit different to age in our stinky rum barrels. We started with a simple balanced wheat beer, and then post ferment added it along with a serious amount of fresh raspberries to the barrels and left alone for 2 months. the result is astounding! Tart fruit on the nose, with hints of oak and rumminess to start it off, then the taste blows you away. Oak, raspberries and a bit of rummy vanilla and warmth. Perfect for ageing too. All work & no play, makes beer very dull.
