Description: Steej-ee-uh-n: Dark, gloomy, infernal, relating to the river Styx. However, there’s no reason to fear this beer. Within its deep ruby-brown color hides intense flavors of dark fruit and a faint tartness. Saisons don’t always need to be bright and bubbly and Stygian is a perfect example of breaking the style barrier. The highlight of this Saison, outside of its color, is the way it is fermented. A blend of old world, traditional Saison yeasts get put through hell, fermenting at temperatures around 90 degrees for over two weeks. This practice is what produces Stygian’s unique flavors. Hades himself gives it, “Two thumbs… WAY UP!”
