Style: Sour - Berliner Weisse

Description: This is a beer for drinking. Massively refreshing and thirst quenching, the Love Bug (brewed on Valentine's Day, hence the genius name) is our second little jaunt into the wonderful world of bacterial fermentation. A primary fermentation of the 50/50 Barley to Wheat malt bill was done on our house ale yeast and then followed by a few months of punishment in our beautiful Hungarian Oak barrels with Lactobacillus. During the final weeks in the oak, a small addition of raspberries (note correct spelling Lee) were blended and the result was tasty as. The nose has the lovely sour notes you would expect, though is fresh and sweet reminiscent of Raspberry Rocket Zooper Doopers. On the palate Love Bug has a beautiful puckering sour lactic acidity with rounded citric notes and a mild sweetness, with touches of raspberry on the back palate. Presents a fluffy white head on top of a brilliant peach coloured beer.
