Description: Gimme Shelter is a Baltic Porter brewed in tribute to those who donate their time and effort to provide housing for those in need. It features a solid foundation of Munich Malts, a sturdy framework of Vienna Malt and it's trimmed with Blackprinz and Crystal Malts. It's painted with Mosaic, Sterling and Ultra Hops and has full-bodied warmth that will keep the cold and the rain away. Brewed with Lager Yeast, this beer started with a cool four-week fermentation. After that, it was transferred to a used whiskey barrel from the Edgefield Distillery where it would stay for the next four months. After another four months of cold-conditioning, the flavors have mingled and morphed with notes of dark fruits, vanilla, oak and alcohol that comes forth in the aromas and taste of this smooth, dark, strong lager. Special Techniques: Aged in Hogshead Whiskey Barrel Malts: Best Vienna, Light Munich, Dark Munich, Bairds Crystal 135/165, Briess Blackprinz Hops: Ultra, Sterling, Mosaic OG: 1.079 TG: 1.020 ABV: 7.61 IBU: 25 SRM: 32
