Description: The sour Gose style emerged in the early 16th century in Goslar, Germany. It maintains a level of saltiness, either from minerals in local water or from added salt. In this case, the nice salinity that accentuates the body of the beer is provided by Oregon Flaked Sea Salt from Jacobsen Salt Company. This brew was kettle-soured with a pure Lactobacillus culture, which works hand in hand with Imperial Organic Yeast's "Citrus" strain to provide a delightful tartness. The combined use of Wheat and Barley Malt deliver the backbone of the beer while Thai Basil, Lime Zest, and Lime Juice play off of the acidity and contribute flavors of bright citrus and an herbal aroma.
