Description: Parrilla derives it’s namesake from the way the victim was placed on a metal frame like meat on a BBQ. Victims were strapped naked to a bedframe, electrodes secured to various locations, the lead wire affixed to the frame or another part of the body, while the other electrode was fitted with a nonconductive handle where the torturer could hold it, and was moved to sensitive parts of the body. Current would flow between the electrodes and the closer they were, the more intense the shock. Causing violent muscle contractions resulting in fractured limbs & death. . This was a favored tool of Chilean General Augusto Pinochet for interrogations during his 1973-1990 regime. His victims are estimated between 150,000-300,000 while over 3,000 were killed. Pinochet is the one being tortured on the label, his ceremonious military sash hanging at the base of the bedframe. .
