Description: American Sour with Dates. Sikaru was s beer brewed thousands of years ago by the ancient Sumerians. When I learned of how this beer was made, it struck me how similar it was to the Belgian lambic process. I read that Sikaru was commonly fruited with dates and decided to add dates to a couple of our young lambic-style sour barrels. 100lbs of dates went into each barrel and with all that additional sugar, it took almost 6 months to finish and resulted in a high ABV beer. Treat this like a big Barleywine. Lay one down to mellow for a few years and open it with friends!
