Description: This big, robust porter comes in at 7.6% ABV, but has a slightly sweet finish and a very subtle vanilla and almond flavor. When adding non-traditional ingredients to beer, Damien tries to add them so they compliment the existing flavors from the malt and hops, rather than have them dominate the flavor profile. So this beer is not a vanilla/almond drink...it's a nice big porter with a slight hint of almond and a dash of vanilla. Those subtle flavors work well with the dark malts, while adding some depth and creaminess in the mouthfeel as they linger in the aftertaste. Initial release: 1/4/2011
