Description: Most people know the story of India Pale Ale but most don't know that only the elite in India were lucky enough to imbibe the now legendary style of beer. Everyone else got what the working class in England loved so much - Porter! But just like IPA, barrels of Porter making the journey to India needed an extra dose of hops to keep it from going sour during the long trip at sea. Our version delivers delicious results. Aromas of tobacco and coffee give way to a bracing but balanced bitterness and flavours of dark chocolate, liquorice and molasses in a substantial but not overly heavy body that finishes with welcome refreshment.
