Description: Our second Montenegro collaboration combines a classy dark brew with everything memorable from your Nana’s spice rack. Sound intriguing? It is.. An Amaro porter that throws 19 different spice additions across the kettle and dry hop is bound to turn heads. Particularly heavy on the aniseed and rose water, one also detects hints of peppermint, cola and cassia, rounding out a striking aromatic offering. By combining the botanicals of an aperitif with a rich and generous malt bill, Brunetta Del Monty lands much like a dark herbal digestive. Licorice, bitter orange and star anise abound securing a palate that’s so uniquely moreish it will have spice-hards queuing up again and again. Though Fuggles hops are added early in the kettle, most of the bitterness in this one comes from a generous serving of black tea, helping to round out an exceptionally complex specialty brew. This one may just divide the field but it’s supporters will be loyal to the end. They’ll also more than likely be the weird friend...
