Description: A lot of times you’ll hear brewers talk about how they made a bitter beer or super hoppy beer but they gave it “a nice malt backbone to balance it.” Forget that! We made a Double IPA with a Hop Backbone. We put in hops throughout every stage of the process – in the mash, first running of the wort in the kettle, during the boil, at flameout, in the whirlpool, then the hopback and finally a 2 stage dry hop in the fermenters. This gives Brain Dead a depth and complexity of hop flavor that changes with every gulp. Cheers to that!
