Brewmaster Rande Reed has created Harvest Moon, a German-style Festbier, to ease the way from lazy summer days into the more bracing days of autumn. Highly kilned Munich malt, German Spalt hops, and our house ale yeast yield unrivaled smoothness and flavors not found in ordinary beers. Harvest Moon is named for the famed orange moons you can sometimes see around harvest time. The activities of harvest and burning off the grain stubble used to make a lot of smoke, and that turned the moonlight orange. But also, the Snoqualmie Valley is known as the Valley of the Moon from the Snoqualmie Tribe legend of their creation- Snoqualmie Story of the Moon, and there is even a neighborhood just north of Mt. Si named Moon Valley.
