Description: Kabru is named after a mountain in the Himalayas in India. In the 1780s, a London brewer called Hodgson made a heavily hopped beer to survive the six-month journey from Britain to India. The beer not only survived the grueling trip, but was found to have improved immeasurably. This was the prototype IPA; the beer gradually became paler and more refreshing to suit the Indian climate. Kabru is brewed to be a classic West Coast IPA. We dry-hopped this beer with modern hops for flavors of citrus, tropical fruit, lemon zest, pine and spice.
