Description: Pre-Prohibition Porter is an American adaptation of an English Porter using traditional American malt, hops, and yeast. Grainy aromas with low levels of dark malt (slight burnt or chocolate notes) with some caramel, biscuit, and toast notes. It will have a clean lager like character with very little hop aroma or flavor. A beer style popular in the mid-Atlantic states during and after the Revolutionary War that died out with the enforcement of Prohibition, it is now being revived by craft brewers.
