Description: The spirit tradition runs deep in Nelson County, but most of the distilling took place in the woods far off the Stage Road, not on it. We collaborated on this Wee Heavy Ale with the Virginia Distillery Company, keeping the ritual alive and well in Lovingston, VA. Aged in VDC ex-bourbon barrels, this full bodied, malt forward ale combines the old and the new with notes of plum, raisin and stone fruit with a sweet dry finish.
