Description: Lorelei Rye named after the German mythical siren who sat above the Rhine singing and combing her golden hair unwittingly distracted sailors with her beauty and song causing them to crash among the rocks in one of the narrowest parts of river. Lorelei Rye is a Roggenbier or German rye beer made with over 60% malted rye. It is a light copper colored unfiltered ale. The aroma is slightly spicy from the rye with clove notes from the German weizen yeast. The hearty flavor is reminiscent of rye bread with some caramel sweetness from a variety of crystal malts but finishes with a light dry spiciness. 5.4% ABV & 19 IBUs
