Description: Undercurrent is the first barrel aged release of 2014. The beer started as a strong dark amber saison brewed openly with the house yeast, later spending a year in five local whiskey casks plus one wine barrel. The maturation allowed the extraction of layered oak and spirit notes along with light brettanomyces development. Undercurrent finished malty yet dry with potent flavors. Named after a Blue Note gem by Kenny Drew.
