Description: In October, UCBC hosted its first homebrewing competition, and after hours of hard work tasting the many entries we received, we selected a Specialty IPA brewed by Tim Lerch and Brian Tomko as the Best in Show. As part of the grand prize, our brewers invited Tim and Brian to brew their New England IPA (which they dubbed Hazy McHazerson) here at UCBC. This was brewed with wheat and oats, fermented with a characterful yeast strain and double dry-hopped (a first for UCBC) with generous amounts of Citra and Mosaic hops, creating a beer with distinctive citrus and tropical fruit notes, and of course, slightly haziness! Congrats Tim and Brian!
