Description: For those intrepid Voyageurs who traveled this area before us, the red sash was an item of both utility and identity. Serving sometimes to ensure warmth on a blustery winter night, others as a strap for securing packs on a long portage, and yet others as a valued currency in the fur trade, the voyageur sash was a signifier of the lifestyle of these adventurers. In honor those explorers and the legacy of exploration they began in the north woods, we have created a beer which we feel is equally as important when you venture into the wilderness. Red Sash Irish Ale is a smooth, malty Irish red ale with just enough alcohol to help keep you warm on a cold northern night. Lightly hopped, the crystal malt and roasted barley are allowed to take center stage in this beer providing caramel and toffee notes.
