Description: Medianoche Antique: SAZ marks the launch of a brand new Medianoche series designed to showcase some of the rarest and most sought after casks we have ever procured. For this inaugural entry we started with a special Rye Medianoche base recipe, incorporating caramel rye, chocolate rye and malted rye into the mash bill to complement the real star of the show-- Sazerac Rye 18 Year-Old barrels. These casks, which were selected as part of the 2019 BTAC releases, were first used to age the famed Sazerac Rye Whiskey for 18+ years before they were emptied and immediately filled with Rye Medianoche. After more than 26 months in barrels, MA:SAZ expresses notes of cinnamon roll icing, dark chocolate covered espresso beans, Luxardo cherry cordials, orange blossom honey and star anise spice cake.
