Description: We've brewed Smoked Porter several times. This version is special to us in a few ways. It was a labor of love as we carefully smoked the Munich malt in the grist over a steady stream of gentle Alderwood smoke. This gentle smoke character complements the dark, chocolatey flavor profile of the base beer. Brewed on January 20, 2017…also known as Presidential Inauguration Day, we felt the need to add another layer of complexity to the base beer; a complexity that gives us something else to think about. After fermentation this beer was conditioned on vanilla beans and smoked chipotle peppers. The finished product is robust and assertive, while maintaining a a kiss of peppery finish…similar to a Mexican hot chocolate.
