Description: In June 2015, YellowBelly's Black Gold became available on tap and in bottles for a limited time. It's a black ale, coming in at about 40 IBU and 4.5% ABV. It is exclusively hopped with Brewer's Gold (base, late, warm dry hop and cold dry hop). Very balanced and just a smack of chocolate and another smack of something we can only describe as "puffed wheat." The astringency you might expect from darkly roasted cereals is absent, as the roast material used was Midnight Wheat at about 8% of the grist. Head presentation, from the hops and the Midnight Wheat, is exceptional.
