This year’s version of Sassamanash is aged on Red Oak which lends flavors of red berries, toasted marshmallow, baked bread, and butterscotch. Sassamanash is the Algonquin word for cranberries (“craneberry”) named for the plants distinctive flower that resembles a crane. This Imperial Oatmeal Stout balances the acidity of the cranberry with luscious layers of malt.
