Description: We decided to have a Belgian-style dubbel as a year round brew because we wanted to accent beer traditions through a genuine and accessible style. Genesis Belgian Dubbel is simple, sophisticated, and challenging. For our Second Anniversary we decided to create four barrel aged Genesis Belgian-style Dubbels, each representing a pillar necessary for success. Nerve: Our friends at Fair Game Beverage Company, in Pittsboro, are a great example of nerve. They make their No’lasses Rum from NC grown sorghum juice. Something not done by anyone else. By aging Genesis in these rum barrels the prominent esters, maltiness, and slight spices integrate with the caramel, leather, and charred oak flavors to show that audacity can be sweet, too.
