Marblehead Lighthouse | Trillium Brewing Company

ABV: 8.9%
Style: IPA - Imperial / Double
Description: Our tour of the New England coastline continues with the launch of our Lighthouse Series. Like the Harbor Island IPAs, our brewing team's innovative Permutations were the genesis for these beers. With amplified strength, the Lighthouses will continue to showcase specific hops while paying homage to historic New England landmarks. Marblehead Lighthouse was first lit in 1835, but its conic skeletal form was added in the late 1890s. For over 100 years now its unique shape has overlooked the North Shore of Boston. Our Marblehead Lighthouse double IPA uses Citra hops to build off the foundation we explored in recent Permutation double IPAs. The beer pours with a bright orange shade and a moderate amount of haze, capped by soft white foam. A nose of ripe orange, grapefruit and lime leads into flavors of tangerine, pineapple and mango. Mellow, fruity sweetness provides a contrast to pleasant citrus pith.
