Description: We selected casks of imperial stout aged 40 months in Heaven Hill Bourbon, and casks of imperial stout aged 21 months in Heaven Hill Rye barrels. The long aged component had intense barrel and spirit characteristics, notes of toasted almond and cherry pit with char and warmth. The younger components had complex notes of dark fruit, well developed and balanced spirit character with subtle notes of pumpernickel, cacao and blackberry. The result of their merging is a delightful blend of lively fruit and spirit flavors, with a smooth and structured mouthfeel, rounded out by layers of rich vanilla, cacao and roasted grain
