Description: The new release from Badlands is an XPA (or eXtra strong American Pale Ale). eXtra maltiness, eXtra ABV & especially eXtra hops. Brewed with the highly scarce and sought after American hop varieties Simcoe and Mosaic and counterbalanced by Aussie grown Cascade and the brand new Victorian variety Melba. Grapefruit, melon, bubble gum and passionfruit come through and a soft but robust bitterness rounds out the picture. 5.6% alc. How to brew: 1) Make a fire of rich toffee & treacle using the world's best malts 2) Load up with hop fireworks from the frutiest varieties 3) light, retreat and wait for the explosion. Brewed as a tribute to my lovely mum Margaret Shiner (nee Jackson) who was out from the UK and here in Orange when I brewed this celebrating her 80th birhday (with my Dad who celebrated his 82nd while here!). Sorry mum I know you are not much of a beer drinker, but I am not much of a wine maker. Cheers and happy birthday this one's for you.
