Description: Baltic Fig & Port Porter. A one off winter beer. Smooth restrained dark flavours marry w/ dark fig flavours to create a perfect winter warmer. Brewed w/ Slovenian Styrian Goldings Hops & Carafa & crystal malts. Local organic figs (grown locally by organic wine champions - Rosnay), were reduced for a few hours then fermented & aged on a portion of the beer in an American Oak wine barrel (freshly emptied of shiraz from an Orange vineyard). The 'figgy beer' from the wine barrel was then blended back w/ the rest of the beer & topped w/ 5lt of local tawny port from award winning winemaker Chris Derrez. Gloaming is that period of the day between sunset and pitch black - this beer takes you to the edge of darkness but doesn't push you over.
