Description: This ongoing barrel blend series is named Barn Owl, as a nod to the wise and exacting animal that keeps watch over the farmhouse. Released sporadically throughout the year, just as soon as we deem the barrels ripe for the picking, these beers will be one-off creations never to be replicated again. Undoubtedly the spookiest Barn Owl to date, this blend of dark sour ales spent between 2 and 3 years locked away in barrels. Upon emerging from it's wooden dungeon, this jet-black ale was conditioned on a mountain of juicy raspberries, imparting a seductive raspberry jam character that fuses perfectly with the beer's inherent tartness and conjures up subtle notes of merlot. Loads of bittersweet dark chocolate and the faintest touch of charred wood on the finish make this sour stout perfect for embracing cool autumn nights.
