Description: The style of “India Pale Ale” first hit the scene in the late 1700s as a strong, heavily hopped, ale designed to survive the long journey from the British Empire to India. Not too much changed over the next two centuries until American craft brewers asked, in true American fashion, “why not more?” Then came the “Double IPA” quickly to be outdone by the “TRIPA.” Beltway Brewing Co. decided it was time to show what we can do with an IPA, but why waste precious time on a quad, quint, sex, or whatever comes after sex? We present you with “OCTO IPA.” We have outdone ourselves by going big with 8 different malts, 8 hop varieties, and coming in at an obvious 8% ABV. We are sure you will agree we have scored an ovechtrick on this one. You like that? You like that.
