Description: Like a varietal wine, Maris Otter is considered the finest of English barleys, reserved for "top of the line" pale ales. Its low tannin & protein make for a clean flavor and smooth finish. A higher killing temperature used in malting gives a rich and nutty aroma. A small amount of caramel malt deepens the color and adds a sweet note to the finish. These characteristics are perfectly complemented by the earthy character of Willamette and East Kent Golding hops.
