Description: A true session stout like those from Ireland served with Nitrogen for a creamy head. Our Stout is dry, very dark and roasty with deep charred flavors. The dark malts in this beer have been kilned at higher temperatures to caramelize the sugars and to blacken them. Dry stouts are actually lighter in body and not super high in alcohol. The Jack Tar is a extremely drinkable black beer aka “black ale” in Ireland. It won’t fill you up and has plenty of hop and dark malt bitterness to keep the first sip as vibrant as the last. There’s a pot of gold at the bottom of every pint, but be careful not to swallow it by accident on the last sip. The Jack Tar was a hotel located at the end of Parrish Street where the big bull now stands. It was imploded in 1975 in front of a crowd of people from all over NC early one Sunday morning. We can only serve pints of this beer. This beer takes time to pour. Approx. 4.2% ABV Hops: Northern Brewer, Mt. Hood.
